Panama City

To get to Bocas Del Toro, you will most likely be coming through Panama City.  There are numerous international flights to Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.  From the U.S., there are direct flights from Los Angeles, Houston, Newark, New York, Atlanta and Miami, to name a few.

From Panama City, there are two airlines that each fly to Bocas Del Toro two to three times daily.  Aeroperlas and Air Panama both fly out of Gelabart Airport in Albrook.  If you are coming through Costa Rica, Nature Air now offers flights to Bocas.

For transportation in Panama City, we strongly recommend contacting Jose Saenz at bocasfrog@yahoo.com .  We always use Jose's services when we are in the city.  He will have a driver pick you up at Tocumen International Airport and take you to your hotel and/or to Albrook Airport for your one hour flight to Bocas.  He can even find a hotel room in the city for you if you ask him to!  Check out Jose's website at www.goldenfrog.net .

Once you are in Bocas, our property managers, Brian & Denise, will pick you up from the airport, take you through town to pick up any necessities, then out to Big Creek (about a ten minute drive) where the comforts and amenities of the Bocas Beach House await you!

During your stay, travel to and from town is best served by taxi cab or by the local water taxi services.  Water taxis can be taken from the Playa Mango Resort, a 2 minute walk from the house.  Water taxis generally run from 7 or 8 in the morning until 10 or 11 at night.

There are one or two car rentals on the island but some of the roads can be rather bumpy.  The water taxis are really the most enjoyable way to get about and a trip to town across the water from the Playa Mango Resort can be less than the cost of a cab.  Once you're on the water, you'll understand why they call Bocas the "Venice of the Caribbean"!
